SSI SCHAEFER PACKAGING, SA DE CV IS HELPING MATCH DONORS TO SAVE LIVES
SSI SCHAEFER is teaming up with several corporations inside Tres Naciones Industrial Park located within San Luis Potosi, Mexico to help patients in need of bone marrow donors. The event takes place each October and encourages participants to run laps in what is known as the Kilometrón, which is scheduled for Sunday, October 21st at 8:30 a.m. Each year, the race highlights a different cause to help promote a need for locals whom live and work in the community. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Kilometrón and Be The Match, a leader in bone marrow transplantation, is this year’s cause. Be The Match is working on recruitment to help address a significant need for Hispanic bone marrow donors. Every three minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukemia, and the SSI SCHAEFER team is participating in order to give back.
The SSI SCHAEFER team was made aware of the Kilometrón last year when the company opened a production facility within the industrial park to be closer to its automotive and other industrial clients located within Mexico. The SSI SCHAEFER team has signed up to run designated laps within the industrial park, while sponsors donate money for each lap completed. The team is wearing signature SSI SCHAEFER yellow t-shirts and running for a good cause to help locals.
