Clear Stream Program
Program for reusable containers and part of 50 Sustainability and Climate Leaders Initiative.

A sustainable option for material handling.

In an effort to make oceans safer by reducing plastic waste, SSI SCHAEFER is utilizing a new granulate comprised of ocean-bound plastic waste – making sustainable packaging even more sustainable.

As part of the 50 Sustainability and Climate Leaders Initiative, SSI SCHAEFER launched the Clear Stream program for reusable containers in September 2020. As the only material handling company selected to be part of the initiative, SSI SCHAEFER strives to offer clients sustainable products that preserve the environment.

How does Clear Stream promote sustainability?

An increasing number of manufacturing companies are adopting sustainable, environmentally conscious processes. The Clear Stream program allows our clients to meet or exceed sustainability goals by utilizing consumer plastic waste to produce reusable material handling products. The best part? Reusable packaging from SSI SCHAEFER already provides a closed-loop transport supply chain – the Clear Stream program builds upon this to add further eco-conscious material handling solutions.

How does it work?

The Clear Stream program takes ocean-bound plastic from post-consumer resin and incorporates it into the reusable plastics manufacturing process. The ocean-bound plastic utilized in the program is sourced from high-risk areas in an effort to redirect plastic from entering waterways and oceans.

"Clear Stream falls within the SSI Sustainable Initiatives, and when combined with our other sustainability programs like our recycling buyback program, it’s a win-win combination for our clients and our planet."
