  • Container: SB-48×45 Bulk Bin (modified)
  • Dunnage: Hanging vinyl bags, plastic corrugated shelf supports, and XLPE (cross linked polyethylene) foam dunnage cradles
  • Contents: Metal part assembly

This type of dunnage is used for a wide variety of parts for work in process applications or line side presentation. This particular application is for a metal assembly. Parts can easily be loaded and unloaded while the foam cradle holds the part in an exact orientation to aid in ergonomic handling.

The SB 48″ x 45″ bulk container has two side walls removed and is reinforced with a steel frame. Steel bars are attached horizontally across the top of the bin to allow the custom dunnage bags to hang vertically. A clear view vinyl curtain is secured to the frame to prevent parts from leaving the cell and aid in part cleanliness.

Our in-house textile fabrication team individually sew the SCHAEFGUARD bags. The plastic corrugated shelves are secured within pockets and the foam cradles are seated in the base of each cell. Should damage occur over long time use each of these engineered features can be easily replaced either as an individual component or as a single column of bags eliminating the expense of replacing the entire set.

Previously a customer may have used expendable packaging or smaller containers. This engineered solution allows parts to be loaded and unloaded from both sides and increases the number of parts shipped per bin.
